Anyone have any idea how to watch a movie from the HD1 in Windows Media?

Um, well first thing is to transfer the Mp4 files to your pc as they are quite big files and will take some time playing directly from the camera via USB1.1/2. It is not recommended to play the files in Windows Media Player as the video can be quite jerky and stuttery (?) It is therefore recommended for optimum playback to play in Apple's Quicktime player. Search google for quicktime and you should have no problem. Hope this helps. Lee www.xacti.co.uk

Well the reason I am trying to play them in WMV is that they are quite "jerky and shuttery" in QuickTime. Worse actually, they are unplayable in QuickTime.
I find WMV better at playing videos in general than QuickTime, hence the reason I am asking.
Thanks

Sorry Chris! (lol) I am surprised that WMP plays them better than Quicktime and therefore the problem must surely be related to codecs or your machines specification. If you are trying to play a 60fps HD MP4 movie the bitrate is quite high and they initially appeared jerky on Quicktime with me, but when I changed my screen refresh rate to 60fps the jerkiness vanished! Hope any of this helps you! Has anyone else got any ideas? Lee www.xacti.co.uk

Well right now WMV doesn't play them at all, hence my original question. As far as quicktime goes, I would rather not have it installed on my machine. Changing the refresh rate won't help. Quicktime plays about one frame a second, and the sound stutters.
I installed a free movie player VideoLAN, which does an OK job of playing the movie.
But I am trying to figure out how to get the movies to play under WMP.

On the PC, download and install the following free stuff:
First: Gordian Knot Codec pack ( Gordian.Knot.Codec.Pack.1.9.Setup.exe ) install every item except the ffdshow package then download and install ffdshow (i used the celtic guys build and it worked great ffdshow-rev2546-SSE2.exe) then get media player classic.
I got all of this from free-codecs.com
Full screen playback on my laptop not jerky. Also, the Divx player will playback, but can't understand the aac audio.
Also, I have avisynth and virtualdub Mod and I can export to avi in any codec from there.
Also, quicktime works for ok playback on a pc and QT pro will expor the audio, but crashes on the video.
