I don't know why Sanyo didn't get a basic custom application created for them, to allow simple editing. I would rather have that than the motion director that it came with. I was very disappointed when all it seemed to be for, was correcting camera shake which I generally have very little use for.

ok, this is what i use with my CA-6. for viewing... Videolan VLC. the best i think, even because it doesn't need any codec at all and reads almost any format. for editing... i use the best. Canopus Edios,. Professional video editing tool. for authoring... Ulead Media Studio for free solutions.... for editing, i use virtualdub and virtualdubmod for authoring, dvdauthor GUI at last ... for burning.. the one and only free imgburn. makes dvd able to run on almost every dvd player  ah, 1 more thing... if you want to work directly with the mp4 format, then use Ulead VideoStudio 11 plus. a complete editing authoring solution for mp4. |

I have just purchased a VPC-CA65. Have tried to install Adobe Premiere Elements from the supplied software but Iam unable to use it because any attempt to open it results in a "Blue Screen error message" and my computer automatically goes into restart mode. Any thoughts from anybody on this?. Have i got a faulty CD Rom?

Recently got Movie Edit Pro 14 and you (i already forget how) can activate the feature to edit .MP4 files. It's easy. It works flawlessly. I hope this helps all you fellow Xacti users and give peeps out there hope that after they buy their Xacti that they can edit their files.
I recently got mine and searched the web before buying it to make sure I could edit my .MP4 files and stumbled across this forum. Seems many people had problems and all sorts of solutions to tackle this issue. Again, I hope this helps all of you out there in this great big world to edit your videos. The Xacti waterproof camera I got came with Adobe Premiere 3.0 and it allows you to edit .MP4 so I assume the full versions following Adobe Premiere will too.

Ok Im using a VPC-HD2000ex and by far the best software for all archiving and editing even direct posting to Youtube on a PC is Cyberlink Power Director 7 Ultra (£59) it imports every single format without any problem as reviewed along with the Xacti VPC-HD2000 at www.trustedreviews.com got my HD2000 for £419 and 2 year warranty from camerabox.co.uk have ssen it for £409. |

I have the VPC-FH1 and the MP4Cam2AVI conversion doesn't work , I can playback with VLC , Quicktime, but Vegas and Premiere Elements 7 don't recognise this video format and only see the audio track.

I am trying to convert Mpeg4 files to AVIs some I can use them in Window movie maker or photoshop. I have read your instructions but am a total novice. How do I pull down the video file? Thanks

I tried the MP4Cam2AVI software and could play the AVI files on my computer but could not open them in my Vegas editing program. I found another great and very easy to use software called "mp42avi" that worked great for me. It has a very intuitive interface and many variables that you can tinker with until you get the desired result. I used XviD 1.2.1 for Video Codec and PCM 16-bit for Audio Codec and it worked perfectly for my Vegas program. Breaking Benjamin is my favourite rock-band of 90s. They had so many hit songs! The ones I remember are 'The Diary of Jane', 'Tourniquet' and, of course their hit 'So Cold'. These are real songs, not fake ones like today! And it is sooo good that they have a tour in 2019-2020! So I'm going to attend Breaking Benjamin concert this year.
