My sd card gave way over xmas and ive lost all my videos! Ive attempted to rescue them but the files are still corrupt and wont play! I did have a single error occur a week prior to Christmas and so fully reformatted the card hopefully to eradicate and further errors. Does anyone know if I can ever recover the MP4 files that ive lost (but got onto my pc at least just incase I can do something with them?) Lee www.xacti.co.uk

My last batch of videos I have captured will not play on my pc, even though other MP4 videos still do! The error I keep getting is that there is a 'missing moov atom' - what is this? and can it be replaced/repaired? I look forward to your replies! Lee www.xacti.co.uk

I don't think I can help, but what SD card are you using? I have a SanDisc and so far it has not given me any problems. I also try to download videos/pictures/audio everyday to my laptop.

Just to update everyone it appears that I was getting missing moov files because my Sandisk SD card was proved to be faulty! It has taken me forever to get off my arse and report it to Sandisk. But when I did I rang a UK number which was passed onto a representative in USA (still UK call cost) and he asked me a few simple questions and he then gave me a few UK addresses to contact to claim another replacement card.(free) Within a few days a brand spanking new Sandisk SD card came and I am now error free! According to their report the sd card was littered with bad sectors which would have been more apparent in memory intensive files like MP4 movies. That is why 99% of photos seemed to be ok but the movies all contained missing moov files and other corruption! Lee www.xacti.co.uk

Has anyone got a good recovery program to extract deleted files from an SD card?
My camera-to-PC transfer program (ACDSee) apparently baulked at the large video files (no error messages GRRR!), and because I had the auto-delete function on, I lost a lot of files. I have tried various recovery apps, and have got all of the stills, but the recovered .MP4 files have no sound and other problems.
Any help appreciated, Dave C.
