Hi,
The Sanyo Xacti site says "The CG6 also features a dedicated A/V terminal to which you can attach an external microphone (not included) to record movies with high-quality stereo sound."
I attached an external microphone to it, and the camera insists in using it's own microphone.
Is there any configuration I'm missing in trying to use an external microphone on the Xacti? What steps should I take?

I've had no problem with the pic being detected, but I have had terrible sound. I just ordered 2 more mics to see if it gets better.

Because on the beginning I also thought that, but then arrived to the conclusion the camera was using the external mic.  Did you had a better change with the new mic's you ordered? |

no, I have had terrible luck with mics. If anyoen has a mic they use with teh xacti successfully, let me know what it is!
I'd love to be able to use my camera for what I intended it!

Hi!!
I'm new here and i'm a happy teenager just tryin' to make some films for fun and for our school's film show contesT! Not a rich guy, so i decided to buy the Sanyo Xacti CG6...LOVE IT!!
Only thing is...i hate the sound quality!!
I have been looking around for some mics, but not much luck on my side!!
Anyways, i've tried a Sony ECM-M957 (i think) on my Xacti CG6 and it doesn't work.
I think the camera's jealous and won't let it work!! It just insists on using it's own built-in mic!! (just like you Miguel!)
So does anyone know of any mic that is compatible with the Xacti CG6??
Please post it if you know!!
