I have a dilemma with my Xacti C6. I can't decide whether the picture is better with the stabiliser on or off! Although the stabiliser is in theory a good idea. In practice it gives a slight digital zoom effect which to my eyes spoils the video picture a bit. So, what do all you guys do? Do you keep the stabiliser on or off?

I have to say that I am tending to keep it off for that reason. Also these cameras are so small that they don't have any inertia like larger cameras so movements are likely to be too jerky for the stabiliser to cope with if you try to use it while moving. While stationary I don't have too much problem keep it still.

Always keep it off!!! I used it once and it gave the video a strange flicker effect.
I try and use a tripod if I do need something to ber VERY still otherwise it makes it look quite natural with some movement.

Just turn it off and keep it off! You save a little on battery with this feature off since you lessen the camera's computer processing. The stabiliser is the most useless feature of this camera. Your steady hand or a tripod is still the best video stabiliser.
