Well I returned the C5 for a refund because of the problem it had with hanging while saving. I also noticed it had a dead pixel on the sensor. Today my C6 arrived (very quickly I might add - from Purely Gadgets) and that has two really obvious dead pixels on the sensor - one a white one in the middle that grows to the size of a golf ball when you use the cameras digital zoom! My current C4 has awful sound quality because of a poor AAC compression algorithm (from the board it sounds like the predecessors to the C4 had this "design feature" too...). Come to think of it, that's why on the C5 and later it says "High Quality Sound" on the side of the camera. It was a PR statement that translated means "It's ok now, we fixed the crap sound quality". My wife is from Japan and is giving me the "I told you so" routine... Sanyo is a maligned brand in Japan (she says) because all of it's goods are so unreliable. I'm beginning to believe her...

I can only go by my own experience...... I have had my C5 for 18 months and it I have had no problems with it what so ever. There are no dead pixels and the sound, whilst not HiFi, is as good as the traditional tape camcorders I used previous to the C5.

Got my replacement C6 back ftom PurelyGadgets last Tuesday (quite quick - 8 day turn around) and this one seems ok. They must have had a job lot of the silver ones to begin with as I bought mine when they were doing that colour for £195 and the black one for £264 but by the time I got my replacement one the price of the silver ones had shot up to be the same as the black. Maybe they made a mistake on the prices... who knows but I'm happy with my bargain . It seems unbelievable when Currys are trying to knock these out for £450...
