hi ive just got the sanyo vcp 5 and the pictures are really really grainy does it use the same lens as the vcp 1 as i never had this probelm with that one can anyone help me please im really disapointed

If the sensor size are the same for both, but the number of pixels going up from 3.2MP to 5MP, of course more noise.
Just like a 6MP DSLR pics are way way better than an 8MP Point and shoot. It's not about MP, it is about sensor size. We're often misled in this area.
The other thing is the lens F-number, the smaller the better.

Did you take indoor pictures with the flash? Just remember that the flask is very tiny and only good up to 2 meters. More than that the pictures become very grainy. For distances over 2m best is to switch the flash off and put the camera on a tripod or keep it very still. regards Paul
