Hello, This is my first post. I have come to obsessing over the Xacti VPC-C4. But I am in the USA. And it is not here yet Does anyone know when it will be in the USA? I saw the VPC-C4 in Toronto and it is great. Also the guy at Sears said the VPC-C4 was being discountinued. They are getting something new in April. Can any one confirm this?

Ive just been looking on ebay and there are about three main sellers on ebay all selling for a VERY similar price! The best deals are to be gained on ebay - i cannot find any other online shop or retailers selling either Xacti camera for anywhere near the £250ish price! Yes - I did begin this website as there was NO information for users out there on the camera and I found it incredibly difficult getting Sanyo to answer my questions - so I thought the best people to answer the questions are the users! And so here we all are, helping each other out to get the most out of out Xacti cameras! Lee www.xacti.co.uk

Thanks for the help in finding the camera. I sent each seller and email. I wanna get the blue with no SD card as I want to buy the ATP x60 1Gig SD card from ecost.com Well I am waiting for a second responce from the vendors on ebay. They do take along time to get back to you. And they did not get back to me on what the total cost would be be for the blue vpc-c4 without the SD card. I am looking to get an ATP x60 sd card from ecost.com. The vendors have not said what the total cost is.

In answer to AlanNYC's question, I called Sanyo and found out that they plan to release sometime in May, through a Californian distributor as well as Amazon. You can find out more at my post here: www.cgallery.com/wforum/viewtopic.php?t=8It appears that I am not the only one scrambling for information about this product! I found the board above during a search, but I'm glad to see that Lee has started this one and gotten so much activity. Personally, I like the phpBB format better, but I'll go where the people are. I also purchased from sk digi and was pleased with their service. I ordered the camera on ebay on a Sunday night and it arrived via FedEx on a Tuesday morning. I use it for videoblogging. You can check out some samples of the zoom, etc, on my blog. I also posted some research about the Xacti there. I e-mailed sk digi today to see if I could get a price break for referring a bunch of buyers to him. I'll let you know when I hear back. If you are interested in getting a good deal from a reputable dealer, let me know and I could hook you up! --Yves

Yves, Thanks for the post. I have emailed the retailers on ebay and they are very slow in replying and in one sittuation I don't think the person understood me and did not reply correctly and thus I had to email again for clarification.
I am wondering a couple of things. Is there going to be another one from Sanyo coming out? If not I wanna get a blue one without the sd card. I will by the x60 one from ecost.com .
I checked out the other forum there are some great examples there. Thanks for the reference.

I have purchased mine via Ebay from bestsellerhk2002 and it is at least half the price you pay in the high street where they are still only selling the inferior C4 model.
I dont understand why you dont prcase with the 1gb memory as you save a lot more than buying memory seperately?
Cheers..

Correction: I have purchased mine via Ebay from bestsellerhk2002 and it is at least half the price you pay in the high street where they are still only selling the inferior C1 model. I dont understand why you dont purchase with the 1gb memory as you save a lot more than buying memory seperately? Cheers..

Two reasons: 1-They don't say the brand of card they are including. I want to make sure it is a good brand. A brand I trust or want. 2-The x60 card from ATP that ecost.com is selling is a fast card. I have seen reviews that compare the brands and ATP is consistently the fastest.

Is there going to be another one from Sanyo coming out? I asked Sanyo when another one is coming out and they told me to keep checking the global site for news. I am guessing sometime this summer or fall as that is around the time the C4 came out last year. I have purchased mine via Ebay from bestsellerhk2002 and it is at least half the price you pay in the high street where they are still only selling the inferior C4 model. Just to clarify-- the C4 is the latest model, the C1 is the older version. Cheers! -- Yves
